NEW FLAT!

It has been a month since James and I moved into our new flat and we could not be happier! Also we have finally got wifi! Thank God! We were so lucky to find this property, it was only our 4th viewing which came around by chance and we saw it on the second day on the market. Somewhere this beautiful in such a good location was almost too good to be true, and we weren't sure if we were going to get it, as an offer had already been made.

It's an old Victorian house converted into 4 flats with beautiful high ceilings, lots of natural light and wooden floor boards. The size of the lounge really won us over with the black marble fireplace and white fitted bookshelves, perfect for candles, prints, books and nick nacks.

Luckily, the flat was furnished so all we needed were a few homey touches. I brought my big plant from home, and also bought an ivy plant (which is very high maintenance and needs watering almost daily- but totally worth it !) and a cute little succulent.

Once we had the greenery covered, I headed over to Desenio to choose some prints and frames to add to our book shelves and to dot around the place (sadly not allowed on the walls). I mainly went for a nature theme (can never have enough greens), selecting palm trees, plants and a pink peony for a pop of colour. But my favourite has to be the figure drawing print which is very on trend and adds a different style to the mix.

Where cushions, blankets and all the cosy stuff was concerned, Next are my absolute favourite for both quality and price. I've gone for a very neutral, light colour scheme of grey, brown and beige, because our sofa is dark brown, and floors an orange wood which need brightening.

How cute is the pouffe? Never really realised how much I would use it until now, perfect to rest the laptop and an extra seat around the table. My other favourites are the beautiful woven baskets where you get 2 in 1. One for the blankets (no time for folding) and the other for toilet paper (fancy I know).

Finally, the rug. Took me 3 attempts to get it right simply because I was just too excited and bought them before we moved and wasn't sure of the correct size. Wayfair is my go to, free delivery and a wide range of styles. I'm very happy with my final choice, cream - to brighten up the room and geometric to add some pattern and detail.
