25 June 2016

June is always the best and busiest month of the year! So many birthdays (including my own) which seemed like endless event/party planning, present buying, photo taking and drinking. I was born on my Mum's birthday and I also share the same birthday as my manager at work, so it was 3x the celebration in one day! This year I celebrated turning the big 2 1 (over 4 days!) as well as Fathers Day which fell on the same weekend. It was probably one of the best long weekends I've ever had which involved family and friends, a garden party, a trip to the theatre and visiting the Oxo Tower!

I invited my closest friends to 'Non Afternoon Tea' at the Oxo Tower. The 'non' meaning not the traditional British tea and scones (which they also offer), but a cocktail and dessert version with a selection of theme inspired options to choose from. We all chose the chocolate platter which was unbelievably delicious and rich, but I was also very tempted by the 'Beside the Seaside' theme option which included a sandcastle and cinnamon life rings! The cocktails were amazing where I chose 'Shark Bite' which was a strong, coconut flavour with raspberry vodka, and even came with an adorable mini shark cooler.

The weather in London has been so unpredictable lately, I have been carrying round an umbrella and sunglasses at all times. We were lucky that the sun came out after we had finished our second round of cocktails and we enjoyed the beautiful view over the Thames and wandered down South Bank.
