A lazy Sunday morning spent with a smoothie bowl and coffee whilst watching movies in bed.
Over the last month, I have really tried to improve my health, by going to the gym more regularly and making a few small changes to my diet- starting with breakfast! As my first smoothie bowl attempt, I chose blueberries as they are a great superfood, filled with nutrients and are high in vitamin C and antioxidants. By freezing the blueberries it not only thickens the smoothie but adds a creaminess without damaging their anthocyanin antioxidants.
Smoothies are perfect on the go, but a smoothie bowl is ideal for the weekend and are the only mornings where I have time to prepare a nutritious breakfast full of fruit and granola and can sit down and enjoy in bed.
1 cup of frozen blueberries
1/2 cup of almond milk
1/2 cup of oats
Toppings- raspberries, banana, granola, oats, strawberries and blueberries.
Additional options- chia seeds, coconut chips
